LEARN ENGLISH WITH VDICSS

Language Services

Providing free English language training for Newcomers.

Vernon & District Immigrant & Community Services Society provides English language training, from beginner to advanced levels, through the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program.

Classes are free, friendly, and focus on practical English and information about life in Canada. LINC is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Students will learn and practice English through settlement-related topics such as housing, banking, transportation and community resources while learning more about the community of Vernon through field trips and guest speakers.

Three language levels are offered: Beginner, Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate/Advanced. An English level placement test will be taken to determine your current CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) English level and the appropriate class.

If you would like to estimate your Listening and Reading levels, you can try the free online self-assessment tool, the CLB-OSA.
